Joseph Wayne Ashley, 70, Summerville, died Monday at Floyd Medical Center, Rome.
Mr. Ashley was born Aug. 1, 1947, in Oak Ridge, Tenn., son of the late Arvine Hill and Lou Dean Lowe Ashley. He was a member of Summerville Presbyterian Church and prior to his retirement, was employed with Beckett Wire Company.
Surviving are his step-brothers, Keith Proffitt and Ronnie Proffitt; a nephew, John Albert Proffitt and a cousin, Scott Shrout.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Ashley was cremated and no formal services are planned at this time.
Mason Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
