Man Crashes And Then Flees From Cop
Warrants are being taken on a 23-year-old Trion man after he fled from a Chattooga County Sheriff’s deputy early Thursday morning.
Deputy Marvin Armstrong III spotted a gold Toyota Camry that came back with canceled tag. The deputy tried stopping the vehicle near the Trion Wastewater Treatment Plant on Hwy. 27.
” . . .We exited onto a gravel road across from the treatment plant and the vehicle hit the gas and took off down the gravel road. The vehicle was going too fast on the gravel, lost control trying to make a right turn [and] the vehicle then slammed into a ditch and a white male jumped from the driver seat and ran into the woods,” Deputy Armstrong stated.
Two passengers in the car said the driver was Dexter Cody Crabtree, who also has other active warrants.
