Mrs. Virginia Hamby Parker Durham, 90, Trion, died March 28 in the Health and Rehab Center at Parkside.
Mrs. Durham was born March 18, 1928, in Summerville, daughter of the late Stephen David and Ressie Payne Hamby. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and prior to her retirement, was employed with Best Manufacturing. In addition to her parents, her first husband, Johnny Parker; second husband, Charles “Porter” Durham; son, David William Parker; step-son, Mack Durham and brother, J.S. Hamby died earlier.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry E. and Joyce Parker, Billy R. Parker and Terra Nixon; step-sons, Dennis Durham and Don Durham; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Patterson and the Rev. Randy Avans officiating. Interment was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were grandsons, Cory Parker, Eric Greco, Cody Parker, David Parker, Jeffrey Jennings, Justin Jennings, John David Jennings and Dylan Parker.
Honorary pallbearers were the Ladies Circle Sunday School class members of New Bethel Baptist Church.
