City Spring Clean Up Event Scheduled

The city of Summerville will host its free annual Spring Clean Up event starting May 7.

People may put their yard debris and other items along the street starting that day, according to officials. The event runs through May 11.

There is no need to call when these items are placed at the roadside because the city will be running a route to collect the items.
If you have yard debris, brush, limbs, etc., keep them separated from the regular weekly household trash.

The city will not pick up the following:

  • Tires
  • Shingles
  • Paint
  • Batteries
  • Building Materials
  • Contractor Waste
  • Asbestos
  • Oil and Fuel
  • Automobiles and Boats
  • Flammable Materials
  • Hazardous Materials and any other hazardous material as deemed so by the City of Summerville.
