Trion Council Wants Information

Trion Town Council voted unanimously on Thursday to continue exploring the possibility of moving its police department onto the campus of Trion Public Schools. However, at least three council members made it clear that they were not committed to the move.

Councilman Jeff Wilson, an employee of the school system, made the motion to ask School Superintendent Phil Williams to look into potential costs of the proposed project. His four fellow council members agreed, but made no further commitment.

Council members Mickey McGraw, Don Harris and Becky McWhorter said they were interested in seeing cost estimates. Councilwoman  Linda Ingle seconded Wilson’s motion but offered no views on the subject.
