Man Arrested For Drinking 6-pack At Trion Park
A Trion man who was kicked out of his house decided to think things over with a 6-pack of beer at the Trion track field yesterday, according to a Chattooga County Sheriff’s report.
The Trion Police Department received a call about 9:30 p.m. that an intoxicated man was cursing at the track field. When the call was dispatched, Chattooga County Deputy Thomas Sainthill was nearby and responded.
The deputy spotted 51-year-old Troy Anthony Wooten sitting at a pavilion.
” As I approached the subject from behind, I could see that he was talking to himself and that he had an open beer sitting beside him,” Deputy Sainthill reported. ” Mr. Wooten advised that he had been living with his nephew but had been kicked out and dropped off at the park. He stated that he had gone and got a 6-pack of beer and was going to drink it and then figure out where he was going to go. Mr. Wooten was on his last beer of the six-pack. . . .”
Wooten asked if he could finish his last beer before going to jail. The deputy told him, “No,” and Wooten tossed the beer into the trash.
Wooten was charged with public intoxication, according to jail reports.
