Construction Sign Tossed Into Highway
Someone created a dangerous situation Saturday afternoon when they pushed a construction sign into the highway, according to a Summerville Police Department report.
Around 6 p.m. Policeman David Westbrooks found part of a traffic sign in the highway near a construction zone near Hwy. 114 and Lyerly Street.
“. . . [Someone] had taken a sign base holder from a portable Department of Transportation sign and had removed it from the sidewalk and threw it into one of the lanes of southbound traffic. [I] removed the sign base holder from the roadway and placed it back on the sidewalk,” the officer stated.
No one was hurt.
