Missing Man Found In Attic Saturday

A 28-year-old missing man was later found in an attic and suffering from heat exhaustion, according to a Summerville Police report.

A woman called the police and said her 28-year-old son was missing from his grandmother’s house on Union Street on Saturday morning.

“The grandmother advised. . . [the grandson] has a mental disorder and that he had been missing for approximately three hours,” Officer David Westbrooks stated.

The police started searching the area and received a call around 2:36 p.m. that the man had been found.

“The grandmother called 911 back and stated that she had located the subject hiding in the attic of the residence. . . .The subject was suffering from heat exhaustion from being in the hot attic for so long and an ambulance was called to the residence to treat the subject. [The grandson] was transported to Floyd Hospital for a mental evaluation,” according to a police report.
