Stop Sign Infraction Turns Into Pot Encounter

Summerville Police Officer David Westbrooks spotted a silver Toyota Scion failing to stop at the intersection of Givens and East Street Thursday night.

He stopped the car and talked with the 30-year-old driver, Cindy M. McKissick, of Summerville.

“During the stop, [I] noticed that [she] was nervous. . . Found during [a] search was a small amount of suspected marijuana that [McKissick] admitted was hers,” Officer Westbrooks stated.

She was arrested for disorderly conduct and failure to stop at a stop sign, according to police reports.
