(UPDATED 4:10 p.m.) Trion Rec Director And Program Director Leave
(UPDATE 4:10 p.m.) Trion Mayor Larry Stansell confirms that long-time Trion Recreation Director Nolan Crisp and program director Anthony McWhorter are no longer employees with the town.
Crisp, who has 17 years at Trion, retired when given the chance by Mayor Stansell. McWhorther, who has worked with the town for 18 years, resigned when given a chance.
The mayor said the retirement and resignation happened after a town policy violation. The mayor would not give details of that alleged violation.
Stansell described the resignation and retirement as being the toughest situation he had been involved with as mayor.
The mayor said a search for a new recreation director would start immediately. In the meantime, employee Jeff Maddux would be the interim director.
