Brawl In Menlo Nets Two Arrests Wednesday
A brawl at a Menlo residence Wednesday resulted in two arrests Wednesday, according to Chattooga County Sheriff’s reports.
Deputies were called to a fight on Ralph Chamblee Drive around 10 p.m.
“Upon arrival, I was met by Shirley Cooper, 35, in the roadway in front of 187 Ralph Chamblee Drive. Ms. Cooper advised that she and Jamie Tucker, 37, had gotten into a verbal argument,” Deputy Thomas Sainthill stated.
The verbal argument that started out between Mrs. Cooper and Mr. Tucker suddenly escalated when 46-year-old Ricky Ladon Boyd, of Summerville, entered into the confrontation.
It soon went from a verbal dispute to a physical confrontation, according to a sheriff’s report.
Mr. Boyd told the deputy he was “slapped” out of his chair by Mr. Tucker.
“I spoke with Mr. Tucker who advised that Mr. Boyd had attempted to hit him with a chair . . . ” Deputy Sainthill reported. “Ms. Boyd advised that she did not know what or who hit her and that she did not want anything done. Mr. Tucker and Mr. Boyd were both under the influence of an alcoholic beverage,” according to reports.
Mr. Boyd and Mr. Tucker were jailed on an affray charge. They were released on a $640 property bond, according to jail reports.
