Television Box Starts Smoking During Early Morning Hours

A Summerville woman’s television started smoking during the early morning hours on June 20, according to a city police report.

Carolyn Hurley, of Hunter Street, called firemen around 3:18 a.m. when her television box started emitting smoke.

“She also stated that she could smell burning wires,” Officer Gary Pruitt reported.

The situation was contained quickly before any damage occurred.
