Girlfriend Ditches Gaylesville Boyfriend At Summerville Gas Station
A Gaylesville man was arrested Sunday night after his girlfriend left him at a local convenience store, according to Summerville Police reports.
Steven Willis Maxwell, 28, told police that his girlfriend left him at the Circle K north on Hwy. 27 around 9:30 p.m.
“He advised that he and his girlfriend had been arguing all day and they had gotten into a fight at the Circle K when she said she was going to leave him there.” Officer Jo Stricklin reported.
Maxwell then left and took off running toward Title Max, according to an incident report.
“I asked Mr. Maxwell if he’d gotten physical with his girlfriend and he advised that he had shoved her and held her against the car when she threatened to leave,” the officer stated.
Maxwell smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking four beers prior to the fight, the officer reported. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
