Local’s Identity Was Used To Obtain Services 4 Years Ago

A Lyerly woman said someone used her identity to open an account with a national cellular network, according to Chattooga County Sheriff’s reports.

Mika Millican of Brooks Road tried opening an account with Verizon Wireless and discovered her social security number was already in use. Someone has been using it since 2014.

“Miss Millican advised that she did not open a Verizon Wireless Account in 2014. Miss Millican advised that she was told by the Verizon Fraud department to file a police report of the incident so they could clear it up,” Deputy Nicole Sprague stated.
