All Clear: City Says All Customers Can Drink Without Boiling

All water restrictions have been lifted on the water in Summerville. It’s now safe to drink and there isn’t a boil water advisory, according to a Summerville City Manager Janice Galloway.

The city issued the boil water advisory on a few areas outside the city limits toward Dry Valley early Tuesday morning. Residents living around Orchard Hill, Mahan, Buice Lane and Hair Lake Road were told to boil their water after water pressure to their homes dropped.

A pump that provides water to those areas malfunctioned and caused the pressure issue.
