Mysterious Man Steals Strange Mailed Package Off Porch

A mysterious package left on a Summerville couple’s porch was quickly stolen Thursday morning, according to Summerville Police reports.

Mary and Conley Martin, on State Street, said the postal mail carrier left a large box on their front porch around 10 a.m.

“The couple stated that immediately after the mail carrier had put the package down, a black male possibly in his early to mid-20s had parked his black pickup truck behind the mail vehicle and approached the location of the package. Mary stated that just before the unknown man was able to take the package, she observed that the shipping label had come from a California address.”

The incident is under investigation.
