Summerville City Hall Is Opening Earlier For Customers

The city of Summerville is extending the hours its doors are open for utility customers to pay their bills.

For the next two weeks, city hall will open at 8 a.m. for utility customers to pay bills or conduct other city business. The doors close at 5 p.m.

Normally city hall doesn’t open until 9 a.m., City Manager Janice Galloway said. But this is a new experiment to see if it helps customers, she indicated.

Opening the doors an hour earlier is being tested through August 9. After that time, officials will evaluate whether it’s effective to open an hour earlier.
