Joyce Webb Swindle

Mrs. Joyce Webb Swindle, age 87 of Powell, TN, passed away on Sunday evening, August 5, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Oak Ridge, TN. Mrs. Swindle was born in Saltillo, MS to the late Mack and Florence White Webb on April 17, 1931. She and her husband, the late Tripp S. Swindle moved to the Oak Ridge area in 1951 and had been residents of the Claxon Community since 1954. She was an active member of Claxton Church of Christ for over 60 years. Mrs. Swindle was a volunteer patient representative at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge for the past 20 years until failing health prevented her from doing so. She enjoyed meeting and talking to patients, and loved all the volunteers she worked with. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, David Tripp Swindle and Michael V. Swindle, both of Claxton, and a brother, Mack Donald Webb, of Saltillo, MS.
Mrs. Swindle is survived by her daughters, Debi (Sammy) Wyers of Winfield, AL, Robyn (Hugh) Glaze of Trion, GA, son, Franklin Swindle of Claxton, her grandchildren, Adam
(Sandy) Wyers of Iuka, MS, Paul (Nicole) Wyers of Guin, AL, David (Deana) Wyers of
Marietta, MS, Reed (Bridget) Swindle of Corinth, MS, Amanda Joy (Todd) Houston of
Rockwood, TN, Jordan Glaze of Villa Rica, GA, and Justin (Meghan) Glaze of Lafayette, GA.
Great grandchildren Ellie Catherine Wyers, Bonds Andrew Wyers, Michaela Brittlynn Hodges,
Hannah Grace Palmer, Brayden Jackson Wyers, Tripp Reece Wyers, Sam Henry Wyers,
Roman Pierce Swindle, Scarlet Reed Swindle, Casper Flynn Houston, Hattie Joy Houston,
Everett Todd Houston, Lorelai Emma Glaze and Harrison Tripp Glaze. Brother, Fred Webb, 2 sisters, Joan Epperson and Kay Pope, all of Mississippi, and a sister in law, Mary Milam of Tullahoma, TN. A host of nieces and nephews also survive. Left to mourn her passing also, a special friend, Mrs. Louise Turner. Visitation for Mrs. Swindle will be held Friday, August 10 from 6-9 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary in Oak Ridge, TN with the funeral service at the Claxton Church of Christ Saturday at 11 a.m. with ministers Tim Forlines, Hugh Glaze, Reed Swindle, and Fred Webb officiating.
