Public Beer Drinking Results In Two Arrests
* Jimmy Dewayne Peoples, of Lake Wanda Reita Road, in Summerville, was arrested for drinking alcohol in J.R. “Dick” Dowdy Park around 7 p.m. on Thursday.
“I was dispatched to Dowdy Park in reference to subjects drinking alcohol under the pavilion. Upon contact, I spoke to several individuals including Jimmy Peoples. No one admitted to drinking alcohol in the park. I checked the area around the individuals and observed Bud Light cans and small wine containers in the trash can near the pavilion. I asked again and Mr. Peoples advised that he had drank earlier,” Summerville Policeman Jo Stricklin reported.
* Kenneth Eugene Sellers, of Hope Rebirth Homeless Shelter, was arrested for drinking beer inside the Highland Avenue Cruze Through store around 7 p.m. Thursday.
Cops were called to the store after someone called 911 and said, “Please help” and then immediately hung up the telephone.
A store employee told officer Stricklin that Sellers was intoxicated and causing a disturbance inside the store. Seller was jailed for public intoxication.
