Update: Boil Water Advisory Extended Into Friday Evening
Update: A third water line rupture in the Mountain View area has caused a current boil water advisory to be extended into late Friday
*********From Earlier**********
The Chattooga County Water District is issuing a boil water advisory for customers in the Mountain View area. The affected section is east of Williams Cemetery Road. This is due to a break in a water line on Pierce Road. The boil water advisory should be lifted by 10:30 a.m. Friday if all biological tests come back OK.
This is the second boil water advisory for that area this week. The first advisory was issued Tuesday and ended on Wednesday morning.
PUBLIC ADVISORY BOIL WATER NOTICE
In order to protect the public from a potential health hazard, all citizens that have experienced water outages and/or low water pressures are advised to “boil” all water prior to use for drinking, cooking, or preparing baby food. The water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil. Citizens should continue to boil their water until they are notified by their drinking water utility that the water system has been restored to full operation, and that the microbiological quality of the water in the distribution system is safe for human consumption.
