Country singer Channing Wilson will headline the annual Denim Days festival at Trion on Saturday.
The event, which is held on Park Avenue near Town Hall, will get started at 1 p.m. and last until after dark when a fireworks show designed by county resident David Parker will light up the sky.
Denim Days is a family-friendly event with an array of activities for young people and adults, including a climbing wall, cornhole competitions, water slides and live music. The splash pad at the recreation center will also be open until 9 p.m.
Vendors will be selling food, drinks and other products.
Local musicians will perform on the smaller stage beginning at 2 p.m.
Matt Foster will take the main stage at 5 p.m., followed an hour later by Matt Thornton. Jacob Bryant will perform starting at 7 p.m. with headliner Wilson grabbing the spotlight at 8:15.
Wilson cited roots music giants Guy Clark and Steve Earle as early influences. He had the opportunity to learn from Clark after he was hired to write songs for EMI Music Publishing in Nashville.
Wilson has had songs recorded by country artist Tyler Farr and Luke Combs and has shared stages with highly respected singer-songwriters like Robert Earl Keen, Billy Joe Shaver and Dale Watson.
