Jerry Lee McNeese

Mr. Jerry Lee McNeese, age 79, of Trion, GA, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at his residence. 

Mr. McNeese was born October 24, 1938, in Trion, GA, son of the late Walter and Mary Grace McWhorter McNeese.  He was Church of God by faith, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mt Vernon Mills.  Mr. McNeese was also a veteran of the United States Army, and spent many years as a coach with the recreation department.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean McGraw McNeese; a daughter,  Brenda Overbay. brothers, Donald McNeese, Leroy McNeese, and Lamar McNeese; sister, Ann Bullard.

Mr. McNeese is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Myra Overbay and Kevin and Denise McNeese; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Blake Campbell, Jerrie Lynn and Ron Edwards, Darlene and David Lloyd, Carla and Eric Ware; brothers and sisters-in-law, David McNeese, Wayne and Tina McNeese, Greg McNeese; sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy Harris and Ray Shaw, Faye Thigpen; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. McNeese will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday  from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery with military honors.  Active pallbearers will be Kevin McNeese, Tyler McNeese, Britt Carpenter, Jeremy Overbay, John Aycock, and Luke Overbay.  Honorary pallbearers will be his caregivers, Brenda Copeland and Peggy Mitchell.

Mr. McNeese will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
