(Updated) George “Scott” Treadaway
George Scott Treadaway, age 57, of Lyerly, GA, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Treadaway was born November 20, 1960, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, son of the late Claude Harold and Sarah “Sally” Cox Treadaway. He was a member of Alpine Community Church and was a self-employed contractor and electrician. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Treadaway was a member of the Lyerly Lodge # 338 F&AM, the Chattooga County Shrine Club, and the American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Randall Treadaway.
Mr. Treadaway is survived by his wife, Tina Marie Burke Treadaway; son, Richard Scott Treadaway; daughters and son-in-law, Georgina and Buford Knopps, Sarah Treadaway; a niece, Cassie Stoker; step-sons, Jacob Ratliff and David Ratliff; step-daughter, Jessica Ratliff; and 9 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Treadaway will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 3, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Freddie Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Lyerly Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joe Stephens, Eddie Burke, Fred Burke, Eric Millican, Rex Millican, Daniel Bell, Daniel Little, Matthew Treadaway, Jeremy Treadaway, and Corky Trapp. Honorary pallbearers will be Max Treadaway, Jacob Ratliff, the members of Lyerly Lodge # 338, F&AM, and the members of the Chattooga County Shrine Club.
Mr. Treadaway will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday.
