Vehicle Stolen From Used Car Lot Found At Gas Station

Someone stole a vehicle that was being repaired at Truck Town Inc., in Pennville recently, according to Chattooga County Sheriff’s reports.

Billy Dooley said a customer’s blue 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier was missing from the lot. It belonged to Jimmie Hartline, Deputy Derek Mitchell reported.

“Mr. Dooley stated he thought that Mr. Hartline had already picked the vehicle up and had not thought anything about it until Mr. Hartline came by the dealership to pick it up. Mr. Dooley then stated he left the dealership to look for the vehicle and when he drove by the Chevron [in Pennville], he saw it parked on the side of the gas station,” Deputy Mitchell reported.

Dooley called 911. The incident is still under investigation. Deputies encountered a person at the gas station that said they had purchased the vehicle from another person for $1,500. The vehicle was returned to Hartline and Sheriff’s Investigator Jason Burrage is looking into the matter.
