Pit Bulldog Attack Results In A Hospital Visit

A black pit bulldog attacked a Summerville woman on Kellett Street this week, according to Summerville Police reports.

Emily Pierce was walking near the intersection of Kellett Street and Curran Street when the dog ran toward her on Sunday.

“Pierce states that she was not bothering the dog in any way when it attacked her,” Officer David Westbrooks reported.

The dog attacked her left leg and officers could see the puncture marks and blood coming from Pierce’s leg. She was transported to a hospital in Floyd County for treatment, according to reports.

Animal control was called and the dog was put in isolation for several days.
