3.5 Pounds Of Laundry Detergent Shoplifted

A shoplifting warrant has been taken out against a Trion woman for allegedly stealing 3.5 pounds of Tide Pods laundry detergent from the Dollar General Store on Commerce Street, according to Summerville Police reports.

A store employee showed a video of a female taking a tub of Tide Pods and dumping the contents into her jacket pocket on Tuesday evening, according to Officer David Westbrooks.

Cops looking at the video identified the woman as 43-year-old Kathy Daine Richardson, of Trion.

“Photos of Richardson from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department from an early arrest was found to match the female subject featured on the video surveillance unit from the store of the Dollar General,” Officer Westbrooks stated.

A shoplifting warrant has been taken out against Richardson, according to police reports. The Tide Pods were valued at $17.95, according to reports.
