Earl Edward England, Sr

Earl Edward England, Sr, age 85 of Ellijay, GA passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta following an extended illness.

 

He was a loving father and grandfather whom loved sports, fishing and gardening. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War, and he was considered the Mayor of Burnt Mountain by all the locals and would patrol the mountain on his four wheeler.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Joyce Willingham England; an infant daughter, Parents, Ella and John E. England, Sr., brothers, Johnny E. England, Jr. And Jack England; and a loving aunt that raised him, Lena Youngblood.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Eddie England and Todd and Sherri England of Burnt Mountain; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Charles (Willie) Johnson of Summerville, GA; sister-in-law, Wanda Willingham England; grandchildren, Nick England, Kaylin England, Ashley and Cody Pitts, Nathan Flanagan all of Burnt Mountain; dear friend, Paula England, and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Henson officiating. Interment will follow the funeral at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Dawsonville, GA.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
