Cops Arrest Man On Hoverboard

Cops thought it was odd that a 26-year-old Menlo man was riding a hoverboard during the early morning hours, according to Summerville Police reports.

Officer Gary Pruitt spotted Casey Green, of 1201 Sunnydale Road, riding on a hoverboard on the sidewalk on Commerce Street at 5 a.m.

“I informed Casey Green that we commonly make contact with subjects who are on foot at such unusual hours,” Officer Pruitt stated.

Cops discovered that Green had active warrants for meth possession and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

“I then gave Casey a lawful order to go ahead and place his hands behind his back. Upon my attempt to place Casey in handcuffs, he immediately resisted and began pulling away from my grip. I and Officer [Roy] Williams struggled with the subject. I then placed Casey in handcuffs. Casey Green then stated to officers that we would find a weapon on his person, but that it was not his.”

Cops found a Taurus 9mm in Green’s waistband and it had two rounds of ammunition. They also found suspected meth residue in his pocket and a clear glass bulb ended pipe.

Green was arrested for possession of meth, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of drug-related objects and obstruction of an officer.
