U-Haul Strikes Storage Building Multiple Times
The Chattooga Self Storage buildings were struck multiple times by a U-Haul truck on Tuesday afternoon, according to Summerville Police reports.
Maranda Jarrells, 47, of Summerville, struck buildings at 10200 Commerce Street multiple times while driving to her storage unit around 4:30 p.m.
“[Tommy Pledger] stated that Ms. Jarrells was driving a large U-Haul rental truck and struck several of the buildings at his business. [I] did see damage to several buildings and damage to the U-Haul truck as well,” Summerville Police Officer Roy Williams said.
The officer collected names, insurance cards and other information for a report and then left. Later that day police received another call. Not only did the truck smack into buildings going in, but Officer Gary Pruitt said the truck hit a building on the way out.
