Kenneth “Ken” Ray Strickland
Kenneth “Ken” Ray Strickland, 78, Chattanooga, Tenn. died Dec. 5 at his home.
He was the son of the late Glen and Margaret Strickland. His brother, Hubert Glen Strickland died earlier. Ken was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a 1971 graduate of Southern Technical Institute in Marietta. Ken retired as an Associate Electrical Engineer with TVA and later worked for Publix in East Brainerd where he was lovingly known as the “Captain”. He was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. Ken was a people person. He loved talking and getting to know others. He loved watching old movies, westerns and the weather channel.
Surviving are his loving wife, Jenith Thomas Strickland; son, Matthew Scott Strickland; grandson, Matthew Scott Strickland II, all of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Kaylee Taylor Strickland, Westminster, Md. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Monday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment was in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military rites being conducted at the cemetery.
Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, had charge of arrangements.
