Agency Misplaces Local’s Paperwork
A Summerville woman claims a local state agency misplaced her application containing personal information recently, according to police reports.
Linda Lawrence told officers that she applied for government assistance at the Chattooga County EOA office. It is part of Georgia’s annual Economic Opportunity Authority (EOA) which helps people with their energy costs.
She dropped off her application, a copy of her driver’s license and a copy of her social security card at the agency.
On Dec. 14, an EOA worker notified Lawrence that her paperwork had been “misplaced.”
”Ms . Lawrence is fearful that her identity will be compromised and wished to make a report,” according to Summerville Policeman Jo Strickland.
