A Summerville woman was arrested for stealing a $150 ring on Friday, according to Chattooga County Sheriff’s reports.

Amanda Darlene Pollard, of 831 Williams Road, Summerville, was arrested for theft by taking. She stole a silver ring with three rubies on it. The ring belongs to Cheryl Ann Rainey, of Summerville.

It was taken while Pollard and another woman were visiting Rainey’s apartment. Pollard allegedly took the ring while visiting the bathroom.

“Ms. Rainey advised that Ms. Pollard was the only one that went into the restroom and that she always checks her stuff to make sure nothing is missing. After leaving the residence I made contact with Ms. Pollard and asked if we could meet up where she stated that she was at Wal-Mart and that she could meet me out front. Upon arriving at Wal-Mart I spoke with Ms, Pollard where she advised that Ms. Rainey is crazy and that she didn’t take anything from the residence. At this time I placed Ms. Pollard under arrest for theft by taking and transported her to the Chattooga County Jail without incident,” Deputy Marvin Armstrong stated.
