Esther Clyde Prince
Mrs. Esther Clyde Prince, age 79 of the Pennville community, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the residence of her son.
Mrs. Prince was born on Sand Mountain in Alabama on September 1, 1939, daughter of the late Coy Broyles and Myrtle Richards Broyles. She was a member of the Harrell Street Church of God and was a homemaker. Mrs. Prince was a loving mother and grandmother and loved to crochet, watch birds and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Mrs. Prince was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas D. “T.D.” Prince and her second husband, Johnnie Gentry.
Mrs. Prince is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jamie Jones; son and daughter-in-in-law, Tony and Karen Prince; brother and sister-in-law, William and Ann Broyles; sister, Wanda Lively; 4 grandchildren, Natalie Matthews, Joshua Prince, Chelsea Prince and Dylan Jones; 2 great grandchildren, Skyler Renfroe and Maleaha Pickard; 4 step children, and a number of step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Prince will be held Saturday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Freddie Bell and Rev. Denny Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Prince, David Matthews, Jamie Jones, Eliah Lewis, Danny Hester and D.J. Hester. Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Amedisys Hospice.
Mrs. Prince will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
