Car Battery Stolen From Barn Dance Parking Lot
A Chattooga County resident left her vehicle overnight at the Barn Dance located at 5337 Hwy. 48 on Saturday and discovered the next day someone had taken her car battery, according to a sheriff’s report.
Sylvia Pierce drove to the barn dance and after staying there for a while, she left in another vehicle.
” Ms. Pierce did advise that she had left her vehicle parked on the parking lot overnight due to the fact she had been consuming alcohol and did not want to drive home,” Deputy Corey Fielding reported.
The next day she went to retrieve her car and discovered her battery was missing. A witness told Pierce that her battery was stolen by another customer after she left. The incident is still under investigation.
The battery was valued around $100, according to reports.
