Antje Pyroth Lowry


Antje Pyroth Lowry, 75, Hertford, N. C. died peacefully in her home with family members by her side on Jan. 7.

Mrs. Lowry was born in Hamburg, Germany on Jan. 31, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Alfons and Laura Maria Franzica Brehm Pyroth. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she retired as an Industrial Hygiene Technician having been employed with the Department of Defense. An avid golfer, she also enjoyed woodworking, painting, gardening, and boating.

In addition to her parents, brothers, Peter Pyroth and wife, Friedel, Alfons Pyroth and wife, Marianna, and Claus Pyroth, and wife, Linde died earlier.

Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Gary Lee Lowry; son, Michael Arnold and wife, Joyce, Hertford; daughter, Rebecca Lowry Hammonds and husband, Rodney, of Henagar, Ala.; three sisters, Eva Braun, Bad Fussing, Germany, Barbara Toney and husband, Bill, Hertford, Jutta Lopez Perancho and husband, Tomas, of Bad Fussing, Germany; four grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Jason, and Kayla and three great-grandchildren, Jaden, Nola, and Bonnie, and two soon to be born.

A memorial service will be held Jan. 20 at Snug Harbor Community Church, 133 Fir Street in Hertford, N. C. 27944, and will be conducted by the Rev.Brian Perry.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation in Snug Harbor Community Reception Hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to the Wounded Warrior Project, (in memory of Antje) or Snug Harbor Community Church Po Box 114, Hertford, NC 27944 (in memory of Antje).
