A burglar broke into a local church and damaged a door, according to a Summerville Police report.
Dustin Smith reported yesterday that someone broke into the backdoor of the Redemption Worship Center Church at 174 West First Avenue. Officer Gary Pruitt said it appeared that someone tried prying open a rear door. Also, another door on the side was found to be unlocked.
“I observed the right door to have several pry marks as well as substantial damage to the portion of the door that holds the door handle and lock in place,” Officer Pruitt reported.
Smith did not see anything missing from inside the church. The incident remains under investigation.
