Bulldogs Wrestling Makes History

The Bulldogs wrote their name in the Trion history books this week when they defeated Cedartown in a duals match 40-13. The win was the Bulldogs 31st duals win of the season. It is the most duals win in school history and is icing on the cake following their second-place finish at state in duals last week.
“I have coached a lot of good teams over the years,” Coach Eric Brock told The News. “In 2015, I had a group of young mean that set the record of 30 wins in a season. These young wrestlers knew that coming in this year and it was a goal to beat the record before we ever started the season. I really didn’t know what to expect out of such a young group of wrestlers. I knew that they were talented, but also inexperienced at the varsity level. To only have four starters in the lineup from last year’s team I knew it would be tough, but these men keep surprising me. They are a great team and you can never count them out. The future looks bright for the next several years. These young men want a state championship ring and I believe they will have one before they graduate.”
