Speeding Ticket Turns Into A Meth Bust

A speeding motorist is now facing drug charges, according to Summerville Police reports.

Officer Matt Wilson stopped 37-year-old Elizabeth Carter, of Alabama, for speeding on Hwy. 27 around 3 a.m. on Monday. As he was talking with the driver, he noticed a small plastic baggie in the driver’s floorboard.

“I then advised Ms. Carter that I noticed a baggie in the floorboard and Ms. Carter concealed it by putting her foot on top of the baggie,” Officer Wilson stated.

The officer asked for the plastic baggie and Carter handed it over. It contained suspected methamphetamine, according to an incident report.

She was arrested for possession of meth and possession or use of drug-related objects, according to jail reports.
