Spring Cleanup In Summerville Slated May 6-10
It’s almost time to toss your junk along Summerville roadsides in the annual Spring Cleanup event.
Although the official event is more than a month away, city officials are aware that people will soon be outside cleaning up their yards and homes. The event is scheduled for May 6-10.
“It’s one week. Of course, it usually lasts a month after that picking up stuff,” Summerville Mayor Harry Harvey said.
“Usually about two months after we get it all picked up,” Summerville Public Works Superintendent Terry Tinney said.
There is no cost to citizens to dump their trash in their ditches.
Items that will not be picked up are as follows:
* Hazardous Materials
* Paint
* Batteries
* Contractor Waste
* Tires
Put items for pick up at the edge of the street. If you have any questions, contact Terry Tinney at 706-859-0907 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
