Leonard Smith
LEONARD SMITH, age 88, of Dogwood Circle, Lyerly, Georgia passed away Sunday afternoon at his residence. Born in Pisgah, Alabama on August 7, 1930, he was a son of the late Robert (Bob Lee) Smith and Lula Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church, a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Korea, was retired Post Master of the Lyerly Post office, and was a member of Lyerly Lodge #338 F. & A.M. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Betty Marie Harrison Smith on December 9, 2015.
Surviving are Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, and Great Nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13th, at 3:00 P.M. from the Oak Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Gillespy officiating, with Lyerly Lodge #338 rendering Masonic rites, interment in Oak Hill Cemetery, with military honors by American Legion Post #5 of Rome. Mr. Smith will be in state at his residence #175 Dogwood Circle, off Oak Hill Road, Lyerly, Georgia, where the Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 6:00 P.M. Friday.
