Turner Resigns . . .
Turner, who resigned in March but changed his mind, filed a new letter of resignation with Probate Judge Jon Payne.
Turner did not give a reason for quitting, but praised School Superintendent Jimmy Lenderman for his “excellent leadership.” Lenderman is retiring at the end of this month.
Turner, a retired educator, was in his sixth year on the board.
Payne told The News that under state law the board of education will be allowed to appoint a new member.
“I’ll notify the superintendent (Lenderman) and he can contact anyone else who needs to know.”
School Board Chairman John Agnew told The News on Monday afternoon he did not know Turner had resigned.
