Chase Blows Through Chattooga; Ends In Walker County

This is the vehicle cops were chasing.

A police chase that started around 3:15 p.m. in Floyd County has ended in a crash on the U.S. 27 LaFayette bypass this afternoon.

Georgia State Patrolmen, Chattooga Sheriff deputies and city of Summerville officers chased a white Ford SUV through the county at a high rate of speed.

Despite deploying spike strips at two locations, the fleeing suspect dodged them all. Witnesses said the white Ford drove erratically and fast down the U.S. 27 turn lane through Summerville.

The vehicle then crashed in Walker County.

He must not have dodged them all because his back tire was shredded and he drove on the rim before he lost control.
