Mrs. Drusilla Bennett Ragland, 85, Rome, died Saturday at her residence.
Mrs. Ragland was born in Summerville on June 29, 1933, daughter of the late Otis Richard Bennett and the late Eula Beatrice Flippo Bennett. She was a graduate of Summerville High School and attended the Carroll Lynn Business School. She was retired as a secretary from General Electric after over 30 years of service. She was a Baptist and will always be remembered as the epitome of a southern lady. In addition to her parents, her husband of 66 years, Hobson Dewey Ragland; mother-in-law, Tee Ragland; four brothers, William O. and Ruby Bennett, Dewey Lee Bennett, Archie and Ann Bennett and Grady Bennett; two sisters, Ruby Bennett and Eula Belle Bennett Scoggins and a special nephew, Brent Delaney Scoggins died earlier.
Surviving are her brother, James Robert Bennett (Peggy), Rome; brother-in-law, Donny Scoggins, Summerville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at noon Tuesday in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Charles Bishop officiating. Interment was in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Mike Bennett, Skipper Bennett, Mark Bennett, Alex Stewart, Logan Eller and Nathan Thompson.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, had charge of the arrangements.
