Pauline Fletcher Pruchniak
Pauline Fletcher Pruchniak, age 84, of McHenry, formerly of Summerville, for 21 years, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital with her family by her side. She was born June 28, 1934 in Centre, AL to Paul and Foy (Timmerman) Fletcher. On November 3, 1962 she married the love of her life, Gerald Pruchniak in Chicago.
Pauline was a devoted mother and wife, her family meant the world to her. She was very talented at many things, and especially took great joy in calligraphy. Pauline enjoyed painting ceramics with her daughters when then were younger and encouraging them throughout life. Pauline was a wonderful cook who adored making her family’s favorite meals. In her earlier years of marriage, Gerald and her enjoyed dancing the night away. Pauline had a passion for roses and loved tending to her beautiful flower garden. She will be forever missed and remain in her loved ones hearts.
Left behind to cherish Pauline’s memory is her devoted husband, Gerald of McHenry; four daughters, Paula (Robert) Petit of McHenry, Carley Vaughn of Atlanta, GA, Pamela (John) Magnani of Prospect Heights, Teresa (the late Billy Jo) Vaughn-Wedgeworth of Summerville, GA; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her sister,, Barbara Britt.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her three sisters, Margret Crow, Faye Scannelle, and Geraldine Sexton.
Friends and neighbors may gather from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road. McHenry, IL 60050. A service will be held at 4 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorials made in Pauline’s name to The American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674, or to The American Lung Association, 1749 S. Naperville Road, Wheaton, IL 60189.
