Subligna Methodist Church Plans 164th Anniversary Celebration
Each year descendants of those buried in the Subligna Methodist Cemetery and those whose families worshiped at the Subligna Methodist Church gather on the third Sunday in May to remember those that came before them. The tradition of an annual worship service in their honor and memory was started by Rev. Charles P. Hamilton well over 40 years ago. Even though Rev. Hamilton and most of those who lovingly looked after the church and cemetery and conducted this service are no longer with us, their descendants have ensured that the tradition continues.
This year’s celebration is at 11 a.m. May 19 at the Subligna Methodist Church followed by a covered dish lunch at the Subligna Community Building. All are invited to attend.
