Driver Flees After Crashing Into Train Trestle

A wooden train trestle over Old Mill Road near Hwy. 48 was damaged after a motorist struck it around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a Summerville Police report.

“I observed that a pole on the trestle had been broken by a vehicle. [I] recovered several parts of the car in the roadway. The vehicle is believed to be a black Nissan,” Officer Jackson stated.

The car has not been located, according to the report.
