196 To Graduate at CHS; Ceremony Planned For 7 P.M. Today

Chattooga High School will say goodbye to 196 graduating seniors at a commencement ceremony today.
The program, which starts at 7 p.m., will be held at the Chattooga High School football field, weather permitting. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the ceremony will be moved into the school gymnasium.
CHS principal Jeff Martin said seniors will each receive seven tickets for friends and family members. Tickets will only be necessary if the event is indoors.
“The students wanted to do this outside and that’s what we’re going to do if the weather is good,” Martin said. “Unfortunately, I can’t control that but right now the weather forecast looks good.”
Although there will be some parking available at the high school, Martin suggested visitors may want to park at nearby Summerville Middle School and ride shuttle buses to the high school. The shuttle bus service will start at 5 p.m.
Former Superintendent Jimmy Lenderman and Martin will recognize each graduate.
Caleb Veitch will present the valedictory address. The salutatory address will be made by Jorja Cooper.
Devin Price and Alexandria Sydney Mitchell will welcome the audience.
