30-Week Pregnant Woman Punched In The Stomach; Accused Culprit Charged With DUI
After allegedly kicking and punching a 30-week pregnant woman in the stomach, a Summerville woman has been arrested for DUI, according to Chattooga County Sheriff’s reports.
Jakyia Lajean Walker, 19, of Summerville, allegedly punched her cousin, Brittish, in the stomach while visiting her at the Maplewood Drive Apartments on Friday.
The cousin asked Walker, who was intoxicated and described as being belligerent, to leave the apartment. Before leaving Walker allegedly attacked.
“[The cousin] advised that she did not want to press any charges at this time. She was checked out by Redmond EMS and advised to go to the doctor if she had any problems,” Deputy Thomas Sainthill reported.
Walker left the apartment in a silver car, according to the cousin.
Deputy Daniel Sanford found the silver car on Dry Valley Road and confronted Walker about the incident. The deputy said she slurred her speech and had a strong odor of alcohol, according to a report.
She was then jailed for DUI, according to jail records.
