4-Year-Old Sent To Hospital After Pit Bull Attack

A black and white pit bulldog attacked a small child Friday afternoon on Scoggins Street, according to Summerville Police reports.

The attack happened around 3:35 p.m. when Candice Barber’s children took the dog outside to play. The dog then bit a 4-year-old child at the apartment complex, according to reports.

“I then met with Kevin Watson who stated that the dog bit his son Brantlee Owens, age 4, on both sides of the face and EMS had already left with the child,” Officer Matt Pritchett stated. “Toddreckius Barber, the husband of Candice Barber, stated they had already contacted Summerville Animal Control and was taking the dog for the 10 day quarantine period. I did call and verify they had spoken with Summerville Animal Control and they had. The animal was transported to the facility by the owners.”

Summerville must get a breed specific ordinance or ban or these attacks will continue.

Dogsbite.org has Legislative Section with very good ordinances adopted all across the country.

    Protect your citizens.

Pit bulls are never safe pets.

I cant fix stupid ! Youve heard this from certain comedians. Well, Now, I get it ! You know it all must have some form of hatred for animals. Your probably afraid of dogs in general. Perhaps you put your mouth in motion before mind in GEAR! Shut up ! You are ignorant or you wouldn’t categorize ” pitbulls ” to begin with. There is no telling what kind of dog, if that makes a difference and mainly a child was harmed, which is awful. A four year old shouldnt be left alone with Any Dog. I have owned a Pitbull. 13 years. Got her when my son was 2. I also had a grandchild that adored her too. But we had to hold her back ! She was vicious with her tongue ! All 90 pounds would trample you to kiss you to death ! Get a hobby !

The true experts of unprovoked, suicidal neutral ground , deadly dog aggression, the dog fighters, know that bully dogs are different and the best at maturing to attack and kill.

They selectively cull dogs who don’t mature to develop the drive to attack and kill.

Those bully dogs who don’t mature to kill each other are embarrassing failures, curs that were culled.

Pit bulls are not the problem. Stop giving them bad names. I’ve seen several narratives written about them over the last few months. I’ve had several pits and I’ve never had one attack anything other than a rope play toy. These American Pit Bulls have had to be introduced to this behavior. I’m not saying attacking young people but they have been introduced to aggressive behavior. I’m sorry people are being hurt but stop slandering the breeds name!

Pit bull advocates claim that the breed is no more dangerous than others. Yet over 60% of dog attack deaths are caused by pit bulls, year after year. Over 50% of people killed by pit bulls are family members and the dog usually “never showed any sign of aggression.” When is the last time you read about a collie killing someone?

The dog didn’t attack the boy. The dog had two little boys jumping and climbing on his back and trying to ride him he moved to get away but couldn’t go too far due to being on a leash and they followed him and started doing it again he snapped as a warning but unfortunately the little boy was a little to close and got caught. The dog wasnt trying to hurt any of the kids and the dog certainly didn’t attack the child it was all just a horrible accident. The dog would have protected any of those kids that were over here. At least one parent of all children that was around the dog were outside at that time just none of them were right there in reaching distance of children or animal. We willingly released the dog over to animal control. This is what’s wrong with the news they use words such as “attack” when that wasn’t the case and they leave out bits and pieces and give just enough information so the reader/audience think they have the whole picture when they really dont.

I took dad and sister to the hospital and sat with the family and brought them home after the fact. They understand that Zeke did not intentionally hurt their child. They also know that we could get our dog back and said they have no problems with it bc they know the dogs demeanor knows the dog loves kids and has had him in their house in the room with the kids as the sat in the living room. We will not get Zeke back as bad as we want our dog due to the fact that there not enough space for any big dog in this apartment complex. He needs a fenced in yard where he can run around or some acres where he can be free to roam.

Google Tom Garner, Chinaman game dog.

      YouTube “Garner’s.”

Tom was convicted of dog fighting. He still breeds pit bulls (dog men call their dogs “bulldogs”) FOR deadly suicidal neutral ground dog aggression.

He sells and ships his game insane puppies across North America and the world.

I asked the breeders on a game dog forum about a child mauling, thinking they’d say “that dog was trained to attack” or “the child must have provoked the dog.”

Nope, one pit bull lover explained: “Kids are dog sized.
      Pits attack and kill dogs.
      That’s what pits do.”

Good pits are supposed to mature to feel the instinct to hunt for and kill others: dogs, horses, dog sized kids, etc. This can occur from puppy age till seniors. Most common ages are probably 18-36 months.

No person, group, or business that has the welfare of all dogs as a priority would want more dog killing Gladiator dogs to be born.

No person, group, or business that has the welfare of all dogs as a priority would want more dog killing Gladiator dogs to come to a community.

The true experts of unprovoked prolonged suicidal deadly Neutral ground aggression, the dog fighters, know that breed matters.

That’s how they describe their dogs by bloodlines and fighting weights.

While German Shepherd dogs and Dobermans can bite, these were never bred for dog killing drive and ability. You’ll notice that all NA and UK dog fighters choose pits exclusively.
