Beekeeper License Plates Are Available For Motorists
Chattooga County Tax Commissioner Joy Cooper Hampton said new specialty automobile tags are out.
The new beekeeper license plate became available for purchase on June 24.
“The new beekeeper plates are really neat. They cost $80 initially, then $55 each year to renew,” Hampton said.
Of that fee, $22 goes to the Georgia Beekeepers Association this first year. On renewal thereafter, the association receives $13 from each plate.
The state generally keeps a portion for costs incurred in manufacturing and shipping, the tax commissioner stated.
